Painted portrait of Charles Todd Quintard as a young man

Quintard, depicted here in the vestments of a bishop and a red academic hood, appears young and commanding. His portrait was painted by Daniel Byrne in 1877, a decade after the "Second Founding" of Sewanee, when Quintard was serving as the Episcopal Bishop of Tennessee. After the construction of the Sewanee Inn in 2014, this portrait, along with a number of other founders’ portraits, was displayed in the Inn’s lobby. It hangs there today.
