Hodgson Hall; a dormitory dedicated to Telfair Hodgson

Hodgson Hall, a building made possible by a $10,000 gift from Telfair and Frances Hodgson, opened in 1878 as the library of the University of the South and was named in memory of their deceased daughter. At some distance from the main academic campus, it became the University's infirmary and hospital in the 1890s. Today it serves as a dormitory for undergraduate students.
