Hardy Hall; a residence hall building dedicated to Caroll Hardy

Hardy Hall was built in 2006 alongside its neighboring residence hall, Lemon Hall (then known as Jamestown South). Lemon Hall and Hardy Hall are companion buildings because they were constructed at the same time and were first named Jamestown North and Jamestown South.
Hardy Hall was originally named Jamestown North, but was renamed by the Board of Visitors in 2016 after Dean Caroll Hardy. Dean Caroll Hardy served as the associate dean for multicultural affairs and later as associate vice president for student affairs from 1980 to 1995. She worked to increase study body diversity by (among many things) creating multicultural student organizations, running summer enrichment programs, and founding the Hulon Willis Association in 1992, an alumni group for African Americans at William & Mary.
Gene Nichol was president of William & Mary when the building was constructed in 2006, and Taylor Reveley was president when the Board of Visitors voted to rename the building to Hardy Hall in 2016.

This large brick building forms a large courtyard space with its companion building, Lemon Hall. It was constructed of light-colored bricks, features many large windows, and a long piazza with columns. It faces Barksdale Field and is near Landrum Drive. It is an L-shaped building.
