Wesley Norwood Jones was a long-time Meredith College Board of Trustees member from 1889 until he died in 1928. Jones Auditorium at Meredith College is dedicated to him and his wife Sallie Bailey Jones. Jones actively supported the movement to disenfranchise African American voters at the turn of the 20th century.
The portrait of Jones once hung in the foyer of Jones Hall but is now stored in the Remote Stacks of the Carylye Campbell Library.
