Background and Context
These four handheld wooden markers narrate the scenes depicted in the four historical stained-glass windows installed in the University of the South's All Saints' Chapel western entrance (narthex), which were installed in 1958 to commemorate the centennial of the University's founding. The University Chaplain, the Rev. Peter Gray, removed the paddles from public display in 2020 because they do not accurately represent the University's history.
