Located in University Cemetery, University of the South, this official Confederate headstone, issued by the U.S. War Department, appears on the grave of Robert Habersham Elliott (1846-1937), a first lieutenant in the Confederate Army and the son of the Rt. Rev. Stephen Elliott, Episcopal Bishop of Georgia and one of the three important Episcopal bishop founders of the University.

Vertical granite or marble marker, 13 inches wide and approximately 30 inches high, with a pointed top to distinguish it from the oval-topped markers for U.S. soldiers. It is inscribed with the Confederate "Cross of Honor."
