Located in University Cemetery, University of the South, this marble block etched with "CSA" (Confederate States of America or Army) appears on the grave of the Rt. Rev. Robert Woodward Barnwell Elliott (1840-1887), who served in the Confederate Army, became an Episcopal priest and the first Bishop of Western Texas, and was the son of the Rt. Rev. Stephen Elliott, Episcopal Bishop of Georgia and one of the three important Episcopal bishop founders of the University.
