The building on central campus was originally named the Music and Arts Building when brought to campus in 1947. It helped fill necessary space for attending veterans after WWII. It remained the Music and Arts building until it was renovated between 1980 and 1982, thanks to a grant from the M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust Fund, which added its current brick exterior. The building now houses the Student Success Center as well as the departments of political science, sociology, philosophy, and communication.
Following the renovations, the building was renamed as a memorial to Edward B. Lindaman, the 14th president of Whitworth College. He was called the “futurist president.” The renamed building was dedicated in October of 1981.

The Lindaman Center houses the offices for the departments of political science, sociology, philosophy, and communication, as well as the Student Success Center. The building has front steps as well as a ramp for accessibility. It does not have classrooms. Its exterior is brick.
