Knox, Bethany “Beth” Teresa

Bethany “Beth” Knox is an employee of Davidson College who grew up in Cornelius, North Carolina, works at Davidson College, and is a key connecting figure of her family, community, and church.

Born to Kermit Nathaniel Knox and Dorothy Elizabeth Cooper on August 6, 1973, Bethany “Beth” Knox and four siblings were raised in Cornelius, North Carolina. Knox became a mother at 16. After earning her GED, Knox studied Criminal Justice for one year at Mitchell Community College. Knox married Robert Earl Mills. Together, they had two children and a stepchild. After living in Mooresville, Davidson, and Cornelius, Knox settled near her family in Mooresville in 2003. Knox worked various jobs before securing a position in the dorms at Davidson College. She extended the Knox’s family legacy at Davidson College. Her grandmother worked in the laundry. Both her mother and sister worked in the dorms. Her father and husband worked at Vail Commons. Her other sister worked in the Union café and, eventually convinced Knox to work at Davidson. Knox also has strong connections with other Davidson employees outside her immediate family. Knox is involved with many church communities. She and her husband are part of New Cambridge Christian Centers. Knox is a strong part of a larger familial community in the Davidson, Cornelius, Huntersville, and Charlotte areas.
